THE REAWAKENING OF RELIGIOUS FERVOR ....

Or should I further explain  , by saying "the revival and reenactment of religion" .  The concept of religion as separate from daily societal  and political affairs is vanishing in many parts of our  modern world . IN  the past 70 years we have missed our chances to separate religious causes from social causes . It seems that the human race , is always affirming that it takes it for granted that religion and politics are inseparable .


Religion , instead of becoming a private , internalized commitment , separate from such external activities as social and political affairs , is surely turning to strong feelings of belonging to one's religion or sect , and redirecting everyone's whole  behavior accordingly , it's becoming the norm .


Indeed , Buddhists , Hindus or Confucians , Jews , Christians or Musslems , Catholics or Eastern Orthodox , Shiia or Sunnis , the divide is growing , and a dark current is emerging in modern thought and behavior .


Conflicts in the last few decades , from the ex Yugoslavia that was mostly influenced by divides of Orthodox , Catholic and Musslem , to actual conflict in Ukraine another reflection of Orthodox versus Catholic divide . The archaic and brutal takeover , and the practiced apartheid policies by Israeli Jews of Arab lands containing musslems and Christian populations is becoming a clear clash of religions more than a political problem , rendering it very if not impossible to settle .


Islamic fervor , as well as all orthodox religious factions  be it Jews , Christians or Hindus , yes Islamic fervor is surpassing every imaginative civilized norm , and I'm not here only referring to ISIS and its affiliates , I'm talking about established  kingdoms and Emirates , Islamic republics, with every aspect of modernism and wealth . All backing and financing extremism and archaic religious fervor .


Yes , I want here to denounce the Saudi influence over the many decades with their Wahhabi , Ibn Taymiyyah and Ghazali  doctrines over the millions of Arab and Musslem youths in their various mosques and madrassas all over the world , East and West , North and South . It is high times the West and specifically the U.S  question and repudiate these practices , and forget some of their interests .


The world will be completely ruined, lost and desolate if we keep this track and continue on this path . All  Religions throughout history have only  seized , destroyed and swallowed up everything imaginable , dead or alive . The Monotheist Abrahamic ones more so than any other .




Secularists , non believers as well as atheists ought to have a greater role of enlightenment in our present world . My usual Appreciations for your time and patience .


 

OUR MEDIA'S SELF IMPOSED ISLAMOPHOBIA .....

If the  North Carolina killings lately  were a case of a middle-aged  Arab/Musslem man murdering three young white Christian  Americans in their home .....  we all very well know that it would have been  carried  immediately , extensively  and forcefully by all the national press and  all the  media .


Not to say , that if  the  three victims  were Jews  and not murdered but simply pushed  around or roughed in a  shopping  mall , we would  have  been  still  reading  about  it  on  daily  basis and  watching the scenes on every news  channel and every talk show .


Mr.  Netanyahu  would have flown to Washington to lecture us about defending  the Jewish population , and inviting them all to  leave the U.S and relocate to Israel . Still and  surely a  better cause , than him coming to play our political parties and system against each  other , and lecture us on how to conduct our foreign policies and interests .


One of our most venerated movies lately was  all about killing  Arab  people of all ages , and that  film was super exciting  and loved by many  if  not most , the sniper had only taken some souls !!


So clearly  a  double  standard , and not only concerning our media . Let the truth speak  .                My usual many thanks .     

LAW ENFORCEMENT .......

Law enforcement , through many of its agencies and their supremacy and brutality are generally synonymous and suggestive of third world countries and dictatorships , military or theocracies . But nowadays in the West , and more so here in America , and for various reasons of national security , immigration  complex issues , and of course terrorism ,as well as individual violence with a total profusion and excessiveness of killing arms , we are increasingly witnessing a clear rise in similar supremacy , untouchability  and brutality in all of our law enforcement agencies .


Every society has the right to defend itself against whatever it deems as dangerous to its safety and well being , and that normally is executed through law enforcement and policing , uniformed members or plain clothed . But in our modern times, and in repetition to many historical cases , these semi autonomous forces are turning in many instances into a dangerous instrument of hegemony and unchecked brutality , enforcing and enjoying the game over helpless citizens .


In most of these secluded clubs or academies , participants especially men , experience such a strong bond with their fellow warriors , an intoxicating feeling of superiority and detachment , at putting their lives at risk for others, and protecting the core  that puts them in different  psych than most of us normal citizens . It is only natural to assume that the final goal of most of these agencies , copying their counterparts elsewhere , is to gain a monopoly of force usage and violence , and to dominate the rest of the population .   


Intolerance and brutality is becoming the new name of the game , as most of these officials ,are trained to somehow believe , that the state , its supreme heads even God is invariably on their side , rendering tolerance and compromise difficult if not impossible , in fact it complicates any attempt to even reason or discuss their violent acts . The practice and conviction that policing and law enforcement must be kept excluded from public scrutiny is becoming more the norm than not .


In certain countries such as Syria , Israel and most of the middle East theocracies , such a scrutiny would seem unnatural and even incomprehensible , the habit of total police supremacy is so engraved and forms the rule , the habit of fearing and abiding to law enforcement agencies is beyond questioning . But again , under general headings of terrorism and brutality we are witnessing similar traits and features in our Western world .


In our modern times , policing permeates all aspects of life , and with technological advanced  surveillance equipment and other military gadgets and arms , we could very easily slip into a science fiction//big brother night mare , against the true wishes of most citizens . No state or society can survive nowadays without its law enforcers , they have become a fact of human life and civilization , but let's not willingly turn it all into a law enforcement dictatorship .


WE must insure , in our day and age of increasingly individual and collective brutality , not to think of law enforcement agencies as the only and ultimate savior and protector , other means ought to be contemplated , studied and applied . My usual thanks for your patience listening .      

A DREAM-LIKE DRAMATIC REALITY ......

 The 50s and 60s in the Middle East , the period where and when I grew up , was a total Arab Nationalism governed era , practically every Arab citizen was looking to materialize Arab unity , literally from the ocean (Atlantic) , to the Gulf (Arab or Persian , depending on your origins) a period of euphoric  politics ,  high hopes , all driving to conquer any and all obstacles as to the unity of the Arab speaking people  and historically belonging to the Arab Nation .


I'm talking  here about the few decades following second world war , extending into the early seventies , a period of confirming their identities and independence from colonialism for most Arab countries and  peoples , a period when all felt free to pursue their dreams and head into this trajectory and course of action . Nasser of Egypt symbolized these times and dreams .


Two Major ideologies managed to fight this popular Arab aspiration , socialism , mostly at the hand of radical parties later turned into military coups , and religion , personalized in Islam , the dominant religion . Young political leaders with leftist ideologies preferred to confine their grip of power to their own respective countries , with big nominal propaganda slogans and chants of Arab unity . Regimes easily controllable by their leaders and Moscow , who shelved every serious opportunity toward unity with their neighbors . Whether on street levels or national .


Down the line , and with the total failure of most of these pseudo parties / dictatorships and their international backers , they totally gave in to religion . Islam was the natural inheritor , pretending and aspiring to fill the gap , indoctrinating and organizing the masses , it  fought pan Arab Nationalism and administered deadlier blows than any of its predecessors . All in the name of Musslem  supremacy and unity against a possibly secular exclusivity of an Arab nationality.


The great and maybe naive and impossible dream of an all Arab unity , a tolerant and accepting melting pot of all its different peoples , literally covering the whole Arabic speaking areas  was totally obliterated by both ideologies . Less so by the aspiring young turned politicians under their Moscow spell , but more  by Islam and Islamism , moderate or extremists , salafies  or pacifists , wearing robes and turbans or modern suites , all these Musslems shot and killed Arabism .


Whereby we witness all Arab states forging new tyrannies and justifying all sorts of terror and horrors in the name their God . The whole situation is a story of brutal dispossession and oppression , it is a take over of one philosophy  and a will to a better secular democratic future , by another very different ideology carried out by fanatic brutal minorities to rule majorities .


One could now look nostalgically at the idea of Arab unity, repeat slogans and chants , "from the ocean to the Gulf " and maybe keep the dream alive , but in no way could one contemplate the future of these peoples under an Islamic banner . What a difference in perspective in as short  a time as fifty or so years .




Here I'd like to add that I'm convinced , that actual existing Islam , could not be exonerated from the crimes done in its name .  My usual many thanks for your time and patience .
