There seems to be no limit to the evil Israel inflicts on it’s neighbors.
Why would a nation intentionally spray the herbicide glyphosate in concentrations of 30 to 50 times what is normal on crops of neighboring countries? This is what Israel has been doing.
In February of 2016 B’Tselem reported that Gaza farmers had lost 187 hectares of crops to aerial spraying of herbicides by Israel hundreds of meters inside the territory’s borders. Such actions undermine Gaza’s ability to feed itself as well as permanently deprive farmers of their livelihoods.
Because of the prevailing winds at the time of spraying, extensive damage was also caused to crops and farmland a further significantly further away. Crops impacted include wheat, barley, zucchini, aubergine, fava beans, peas, green pepper, parsley, watermelon, cabbage, spinach and bitter vetch, grown as fodder for sheep. An area of some 187 hectares of crops was reported as being destroyed or damaged. The actions by Israel had a devastating effect on the farmers.
In 2014, the military informed Palestinians that they could farmland up to 100 meters from the fence. But two years later these crops where intentionally sprayed. In the three previous years there had been other targeted spraying.
The crop spraying could also be considered a violation of Article 54 of the 1977…
This is part of the column by the brilliant Michael A Wells, I receive regularly by email through the site Medium Daily Digest. I'm not a paying member, so I couldn't read the entire article nor forwarding it. But the message is clear, as it is nowadays repeating itself in south Lebanon big time, and at an alarming large scale, it seems it is a fixed part of the policies the Israeli government follows to destroy all possibility of life through these unfortunate lands and totally starve or kick out their populations. And yes these acts are a clear violation of any international law and is considered a war crime.
