THE DOMINATION OF FEAR .....

Fear of  Atheism  versus  Theism , fear  of  political  correctness  or  incorrectness , fear  of  sexual  behavior  or  misbehavior , and  most  importantly  our  classic  fear  of  Israel , it's  lobbies  and  the  general  Jewish  organized  political  bodies  and  institutions .

The  fear  of  being  immediately  judged  and  demolished  or  at  best  not  elected  or  reelected  in  all  aspects  of our  political  and  media  spectrum , invariably  creates  an  atmosphere  of  suppressed  freedom  or  no  freedom  in  our  society . We  cannot  think  properly , protest  or  criticize  when  we  are  deprived  of  our  freedoms . We  cannot  take  decisions  in  our  best  interests  under  such  circumstances .

     
Only  here  in  America , most  of  our  elected  and  appointed  politicians  and  civil- servants , media  representatives ,  never  dare  to  look  at  problems  and  issues  pertinent  to  Israeli  affairs  with  a  free  and  detached  mind  and  spirit , fear  is  continually  governing  our  opinions , statements  and  actions .  Repercussions  and  vengeance  from  Israeli  lobbies  cripple  all  our  politicians , officials , our  public  and  private  agencies , special  interests  groups  and  especially  our  biased  and  semi  self-censored , whether  right , center  or  left  media .

We  approach  any  subject  concerning  the  Jewish  state  and  a  total  paralysis  of  our  free  thinking  evolves , this  I  call  fear .

Israel  is  in  reality  far  from  the  image , popular  in  the  west , of  a  country  supposed  to  serve  as  a  model  of  tolerant  political  secularism  and  liberalism .  " Every  time  anyone  says  that  Israel  is  our  only  friend  in  the  Middle-East , I  can't  help  but  think  that  before  Israel , we  had  no  enemies  in  the  Middle-East ."  said  Father  John  Sheehan .

"Although  the  evil  is  already  done , we  still  find  it  hard  to  believe  it  is  possible  ; this  is  how  we  react  to  rational  evil , it  is  real , but  still  perceived  as  impossible ."  Said  Seneca , some  2000  years  ago .

Finally , we  can  all  argue  that , if  we  are  unable  to  prevent  this  total  main-mise  and  domination  over  our  lives  and  affairs , then  we  must  not  be  that  free  and  powerful  as  we  believe  and  claim , and  if  we  can  prevent  it  and  choose  not  to , then  we  cannot  be  as  sane , good , free  and  powerful  as  we  believe .

AN IDEA ... AN OPPORTUNITY ...

Looking  and  analysing  the  last  developments  on  the  Syrian  theater  and  it's  neighboring  countries , the  escalation  of  the  war , which  is  steadily  being  infiltrated  by  imported  Islamist  elements  and  salafist  mujaheddin , mostly  affiliated  to  all  sorts  of  international  terror  organisations , Al Quaiida , the  Taliban  and  an  array  of  smaller  Islamic  groups  from  the  whole  Musslem  world . A  fast  developing  situation  which  is  embarrassing  to  both ,  the  original  Syrian  rebels  and  the  big  political  influences  behind  them .

Syrian  rebels  originally , were  mostly  Musslems  themselves ,  but  fairly  secular , like  most  of  the   general  Syrian  population , followers  of  a  variety  of  groups  influenced  and  led  by  large  secular / leftist  ideas . These  represent  in  my  judgement  a  fair  40 to  50 %  of  the  present  forces  fighting  the  Assad  regime .

Now  if  Mr.  Assad  could  be  convinced  or  pressured  to  extend  a  hand  to  this   40 to 50 % , and  starting  some  form  of  true  negotiation  leading  eventually  to  a  fair  power-sharing   of  the  regime  including  some  of  it's  main  symbols , like  Mr.  Assad  himself , and  the  secular  factions  of  the  rebellion  and  it's  commanders , whereby  together  they  could  rid  themselves  and  the  country  of  Islamists  , salafies  and  foreign  Musslem  fighters  from  around  the  globe .

The  majority  of  the  Syrian  people  and  the  neighboring  countries  and  their  populations , all already  tired  and  exhausted  from  destruction , war  and  instability , would  in  their  vast  majority  welcome  such  a  move . The  outside  world  divided  into  two  major  camps , one  under  the  leadership  of  Russia ,  fully  supporting  Mr.  Assad  and  what's  left  of  his  regime , would  have  no  problems  with  this  approach , while  the  other  side  represented  by  the  US.  France    England , and  the  western camp  in  general  would  find  it  convenient  to  end  the  not  very  comfortable  nor  winning  situation  for  them . Thus  scoring  a  further  blow  to  international  Islamic  terrorism .  The  Arab  world  led  by  Qatar , Saudi  and  their  neighbors , would  have  simply  to  accept  and  accommodate .

A  shared  system , fairly  or  not  so  fairly  is  a  good  compromise  for  the  coming  5 to 10 years  for  Syria , it's people , and  their  neighbors , and  honestly  a  win- win  situation  to  all  parties  involved  except  the  Islamists  and  their  protectors and  funders .

We  should  enforce  in  such  argumentation , the  arguments  that  lead  to  practical  solutions , and  not  the  persons  behind  the  argument . The  primary  purpose  of  the  debaters  should  not  be  to  triumph  over  each  other  or  eliminate  the  other  party , but  to  reach  solutions  pertaining  to  solving  the  Syrian  crisis . As  for  one  side  winning  it  all  and  at  all  costs  !!  It  is  a  price  no  one  side  can  afford .

These  warring  factions , are not  in  most  instances , able  by  themselves , to  come  up  or  even  to  envision  solutions , they  are  simply filling  history's  pages  with  the  noise  of  their  slaughters  and  hatred  , and  they  do  prevent  the  Syrian  people , their  representatives , and  the  big  powers  from  setting  a  road  map  to  start  normalizing  the  situation , and  starting  a  fair  power  sharing  system  that  could  take  their  country  into  the  future .

Time  is  not  on  our  side , the  longer  we  wait  the  more  assured  the  destruction of  the  area  becomes . The  future , if  we  remain  passive , will be  globally  dangerous  and  wrested  from  us .






Again  the  Syrian  affair  and  it's  complications , thanks  for  your  attention  and  patience .  

      
 

DEAR MR. PRESIDENT .....

On this  great  day  of  independence , for this  nation  and  for  millions  of  others  in  Egypt  and  around  the  Arab  nations  as  well ;  I'd  say :

Yes , and  frankly ,  Mr.  president .  Until  now  in your  second  term , you  failed  to  impress  us  a  bit , while  many  of  us , citizens of America  and  the  world ,   thought  that  you  were  excusable  during  your  first  tenure ,  most  of  us  firmly  believed   that  the  present  term  would  boldly  inflame  you  and  get  you  to  do  and  undo  many  of  your  predecessors  wrong , and  some  terribly  wrong ,  actions  and  policies .

Honestly  Mr.  president , I  cannot  but  share  and  feel  disappointment , as  to  your  passivity , your  funny  and  sometimes  inexplicable  pragmatism ,  your  political  interminable  calculations , and  the  letting-go  of  many  major  issues , all  for  tactical  political  gains  and  image   building .

I'm not  going  to  detail  here , failures  of  many  of  our  domestic  urgently  needed  issues  on    many  a  policy  or  infrastructural  project , nor  our  failures  of  our  foreign  and  future  visions  and  interests  of  our  Middle-East  policies .  Mostly  due  to  your  unwillingness  to  take  bold  and  clear  actions .

You  have  Mr. president , managed  brilliantly  to  increase  our  taxes , and  failed  sharply  to  tax  the  very  due  2%   of  the  supper  rich .  Extending  the  last  decades'  escalation  of  huge  separation  of  rich , and  very  rich  from  the  rest  of  the  population .

Compromising  my  dear  president , is  sometimes  helpful  in  politics , and  sometimes  even  necessary , but  it  shouldn't  be  the  heading  of  our  governing , it  isn't  everything  in  life , and  surely  not  for  great  leaders , or  aspiring  ones ,  unless  they  believe  that  eight  years  of  govern , or  one  for  that  matter ,  is  enough  by  itself  to  list  them  in  the  great  annals  of  history .

I  hate  to  repeat  myself  again  Mr.  President , but  it  was , till  now  at  least , a  disappointing second  term .
